First Visit

What Will Happen On My First Visit?

Your first visit will be a thorough periodontal exam with Dr Criveanu. If your general dentist has sent your radio graphs to our office, there may be no need for additional radio graphs. The appointment begins with an evaluation of your general health and a history of your past dental treatment and experiences. Dr Criveanu will then examine your mouth and document the level of your gum tissues and bone, the pocket depths around your teeth, any mobility that may be present, and the quality and health of your gum tissue and bone. She will then go over the findings with you in detail and explain what they mean to your oral health condition, how to treat them, and most importantly, how to ensure the issues won’t return.

If you’ve had negative dental experience in the past, please let our staff or Dr Criveanu know. It is our goal to make sure your experience is a positive one and you as comfortable as possible during your visit. Our office offers oral sedation, moderate intravenous sedation, and in some instances, general sedation.

Please assist us at the time of your initial visit to the office by providing the following information:

A list of medications you are currently taking.

If you have dental insurance, please bring any forms or insurance cards with you to the appointment.

A government form of identification

Please Note: All patients under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the initial exam/consultation appointment.

Please notify the office if you have a medical condition or concern prior to initial exam consultation appointment (e.g. artificial heart valves or joints, heart murmurs requiring pre-medication, severe diabetes, or hypertension).
